What I wore last week on vacation was tank tops and skinny ankle length jeans!
Okay, this is not the best picture of me for two reasons, a) my head is missing and b) it’s grainy. This is my first attempt at blogging a picture of myself and well, 1) I’m shy and 2) for whatever reason my daughter’s iPhone wasn’t behaving– maybe it had to do with poor lighting at the time? Oh, well!
Anyway, before leaving for vacation, my daughter and I were running errands and on the way home, I made a quick decision to run into Nordstrom Rack. For some reason, whenever I make a plan to shop at Nordstrom Rack, I always seem to like the stuff better on the hanger than on me, but I really wanted a few more tops to take on the trip and (wishful thinking here — maybe a pair of new pants, too?). I’d run out of time to get to the mall, as we were leaving early the next morning, so, I figured since it was on the way home and the mall wasn’t, I’d try my luck.
So, with the expectation that I was going to be leaving empty-handed, we parked the car and headed in. This turned out to be a great strategy, as I walked out with four Pleione Racerback Tanks — mine has an arrow pattern, which is hard to see in the image above, but here’s a similar one. I also found another patterned tank in blues, greens and yellows and two solid tanks like the one below, one in a salmonish color that contrasts nicely when I wear it under the top I’m wearing and another in a nice shade of blue, which looks nice under the other top. For the pic above I chose to wear a white tank underneath.
I also bought not one but two pairs of NYDJ cropped ankle jeans in white and stone! Both Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack have all the items on sale for the same price. I loved the way the tanks fit and I didn’t feel self-conscious about my arms as I’d written about in this post. I also learned that even though NYDJ jeans seem to fit snuggly in your regular size, you should go down one size, as they stretch as you wear them (just an FYI, in case you are interested!)
I couldn’t believe my good luck and I really felt good in my tanks and ankle length skinny jeans. How do you pair your tanks and skinny jeans? Have you unexpectedly found any great buys yourself recently?
